Album: The Silence (2007)

Just amazing music for all of you daydream junkies! Allow Mar - the band, to pull you by the eyelids and take you to transcend your waking life and into a lucid, heroin-shot, post-rock, post-urbandepressive trip.  the group itself, quite esoteric by a shade, renders to you their contemporary sound straight from the  Land of Fire and Ice (Iceland). Mar is laid out by a group of tasty musicians put together by Kyle Reidy in 2003, creating awesome sounds even in collaboration with folks from some well-known music groups like múm and Sigur Rós.

The lovely band's name may be ambiguous to two other bands: (1) a Netherlands-based Neo-soul singer. (2) and one from Columbia, Missouri that is of the noise-rock/sludge rock genre.

Fall in love with the music that makes you feel like you've just survived a murder case. A rebirth scenario from a hopeless one. Burning-truck-tires-outside-a-desolate-warehouse kind of feel, post-apocalyptic even. Mar's sound may also be reminiscent of  the Deftones (eerily) at certain songs like ''The Liar'' off their album ''The Silence.'' 

Take the time and come listen to Mar for a soundtrack to your daydreaming regimen and enjoy. Peace.

On the Loop: Au Revoir Simone

The Trio of dream pop music, Au Revoir Simone creates ethereal, brain- buzzing sounds from vintage drum machines and old- school synthesizers and keyboards. Consisting of Erika Forster, Annie Hart and Heather d' Angelo. They were formed in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, New York in the year 2003. Their highly delicate and soft beeping, warbling and ringing waves of sound that has the tendency to grab you from wherever you are and take you to another place that lays only inside your head and your imagination.

And as the London Times described, their music is "A collision between the Waitresses, Stereolab and Kings of Convenience their music has power from what it holds back rather than spells out, and is just waiting to be fallen in love with."

 A New York - based experimental pop band formed in 2002 presents to you an unconventional sound. Consisting of complex juxtaposition of vocal harmonies and musical arrangements, the band blatantly showcase such resolute control of musicianship that leaves you enthralled song after song. Their sets of intricate orchestrations are very intrepid catching the listener off-guard with curiously woven sounds almost inducive of a synaesthetic high. Listen and allow your ears to be enlightened to a new taste.  It is definitely a whole new world out there with the Dirty Projectors.
